Support to Civic Organizations


UNFPA Turkmenistan provides support to civic organizations by providing organizational assistance, training, equipment and funding.

Since 1999, UNFPA FO in Turkmenistan has started to support civic organizations activities working in reproductive health field. This year UNFPA announced mini-grants competition for civic organizations aimed on strengthening informational, educational activities among population on RH issues, drug abuse, gender issues. One of the main priorities in project implementation will be using new information technologies (Internet) for information dissemination among population. Duration of the project is 5-6 months. Forms of project activities could be:

  • conducting seminars, workshops,
  • information of population by development, publication of IEC-materials and their dissemination
  • conducting action-shows, disco, sport actions, advocating healthy life style etc


  • Information on competition announcement was spread in all velayats through deputy khakims, Women and Youth Information-Resource Centers, women councils.
