29 August 2010 – This day marks the first observance of the International Day against Nuclear Tests, proposed in 2009 by the Government of Kazakhstan at the sixty-fourth session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Ashgabat, 9 August 2010 – The preparation of Turkmenistan’s periodic report under the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) was reviewed at a two-day workshop in Ashgabat during 5-6 August 2010. Ashgabat, 21 July 2010 – Updates on latest UN reform and System-Wide Coherence issues, as well as progress on achievement of MDGs in Europe and CIS region were discussed during the UN Country Team meeting facilitated by Ms. Gina Lucarelli, Regional Coordination Specialist from UN Development Group, who visited Ashgabat to participate in the annual meeting of UN Coordination Officers from Europe and the CIS.
