Poster Contest

For the past few years UNFPA has been running an International Poster Contest and once again this year there has been a strong response. The winning entries go on to UNFPA Headquarters to take part in the International "A Day of Six Billion" Exhibition (1999 International Level) and "A World of Opportunities" Exhibition (2000, National Level). Today runners up of 1999 International Poster Contest and 2000 National Poster Contest will be awarded with certificates and valuable prizes. Winners are selected from each of the age categories listed below Category I: 6-8 years Category II: 9-12 years Category III: 13-15 years Category IV: 16-18 years Category V: 19 years and more 1999 Poster Contest Exhibition "The Day of 6 Billion" was organized for marking the birth of the six billionth member of the Human Family. 2000 Poster Contest invited young artists to examine what it means to grow up as a woman, and to grow up as a man. The basic idea is that everyone benefits when rights are respected-girls, boys, women, men and families. The winning posters in Turkmenistan were used in calendars in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 with messages on FP, RH and gender issues.
