UNODC and WCO conduct three-day practical training program on profiling of containersAshgabat, 12 April 2010 - On March 31 - April 02, 2010, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) together with World Customs Organization (WCO) conducted a three-day practical training program on profiling of containers in Ashgabat under Global Container Control Programme (CCP) – Turkmenistan Segment.

The training course is intended for Customs officers from two Joint Port Control Units (JPCU) established under CCP Programme at the Customs houses in Turkmenbashy sea port and Ashgabat.

The training course provides an opportunity to learn how to utilize Internet based special communication tools and applications such as ContainerComm and C-Hawk in container profiling.

The UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme (GLOG80) is aimed to strengthen the participating states’ capacity to interdict illicit drugs, chemical precursors and other goods concealed in containers whilst facilitating legal trade.
